KeymasterHello all,
I have ordered a new heating element for my Siemens TopLine washing machine and I am seeking any advice on fitting it – I assume it is reasonably easy (if you’ve done it before)?I know the safe answer is to get a qualified service engineer, I’m just checking all the options before going down that route. If everyone says call an engineer, I’ll take the advice!

Sam,
It is not a difficult job changing the heating element for someone with a decent set of tools and the knowledge of how to use them. The Heater (Part No: 263726 cost £29.73) available from: –

But firstly, and before taking that route, may I just ask, what are the symptoms that make you conclude the heater is faulty anyway ❓

Symptoms: normal operation through the wash cycle EXCEPT hot water.

Sam,
Then I have good news….IT IS NOT THE HEATER AT ALL
Your machine would not (I repeat WOULD NOT) complete a full wash/rinse/spin cycle if the element were at fault. In fact it would sit on the wash cycle for FOR EVER!!
Now say on a 40 degree wash cycle, you would hardly detect the heater warming up the water inside, because there is very little water in there to notice. :con:
So what makes you think the heater is faulty, is it not washing properly, are the clothes coming out well spun???
Do tell me more, so I can figure your problem out (by remote control as it were) 😀

That makes sense. I’m going to try a hot white wash now – I should be able to detect that (90 deg)?
Then if you’re right I’ll need to cancel my order from BSH!
I’ll let you know the result. Thanks,

OK, so I can notice heating on the 90 degree wash, it was a mis-diagnosis. 😳
At least I was smart enough to get some advice,
SamPS. Does anyone need an unused 263726 heater element?
