ParticipantHello all.
Problem started a few weeks ago. Siemens WT46E102 Tumble dryer runs for 4mins 10secs then stop, 3 beeps error code, some of the program lights flashing. Did some searching for the possible causes. I also noticed the heater was only a tiny bit warm.
I removed most panels and cleaned everything out completely like the condenser, the drain sump, the heater inlet and duct, the front filter etc. Tested it again but the same problem. I then looked at the heater unit on the back, I removed the spade connectors on the thermostat switch and joined them which bypassed the switch. Now the dryer ran for 4mins and 10 secs but the heater got hot, but then the dryer just stopped, with no beeps or flashing lights, the only light that is on is “end”.I order a new heater element, and a few other parts.
I put a new heater in, ran it, but it stops after 4mins and 10secs, it say “end”.
Online support suggested a defect NTC sensor, I found this under the front filter, it looked clean, but I removed the lower right air inlet cover and replaced the NTC sensor, but this didn’t help.
The last test I have done is to see if the problem happens with all dry programs, and I found that the Warm 20 program runs without any problems, but all other stop around the same time, 4-5 mins.
Has anybody any advice, I’m thinking it’s still heat related? Not the tumbler is clean with nice new parts, I really don’t want to spend 1200 CHF (I’m in Switzerland) on a new due to a small defect part!
Many thanks

ParticipantQuick feedback, it’s fixed. The original beeping and flashing led was fixed when I changed the heater element. It may only have been that thermostat but doesn’t matter. Now the problem was something at more simple. The warm program is a timed program. All others are stopped I guess by the moisture sensor reading no moisture, and since I was testing it empty, it was stopping after a few minutes. Just loaded it full of wet towels and it’s working perfectly. I don’t feel embarrassed, didn’t know anything about them before hand and have a good knowledge of the basic trouble shooting now. I am pretty sure plenty have replaced a unit due to empty running, there are many topics about it but the answer is never…have you loaded the tumbler! Cheers and greetings from Switzerland
