Just wondering if anyone could give me any tips as this is my own F/F but I’m not a fridge engineer – if an engineer is actually needed !!

The fridge section is fine but any food placed in the freezer underneath takes on a sour tastesmell once a packet is opened (e.g oven chips), part used then put back in for next time.
The seals on the F/F look fine and the temperature dial fitted to the inside freezer door indicates it is operating within temperature.

We manually defrosted the freezer a few weeks ago, washed out all of the drawers, turfed-out all part used packets and evrything seemed OK but now the sour tastesmell is back.

    Any suggestions gratefully received

    Thanks

Thanks for the link but the problems in the freezer and not the fridge.

Door seals (and behind them) are clean and the drain is not blocked.
Drawers and surfaces were washed out with anti-bax a few weeks ago and anything with the smell was turfed out.

Re: SIEMENS VARIO ELECTRONIC FRIDGE FREEZER

Thanks Pup, sorry couldn’t reply sooner – couldn’t get on the site.

Checked the evaporator on top of the compressor but it was clean; just a few dog hairs – we’ve two dogs and the hair gets everywhere!!

Only the fridge on top seems to empty into the evaporator ( hole in the back of the fridge and a channel to drain down into the evaporator); there are no drains to the evaporator from the freezer section. Just a hole with a plug at the front of the freezer for when you do a manual defrost.

    Any other suggestions most welcome!!!!

    Regards
