Siemens Vario Electronic Fridge Freezer

Hi,

I have Siemens Vario Electronic Fridge Freezer. I was
looking through the forums and noticed how a couple of people
mentioned a problem that seems similar to mine.

Basically my fridge freezer seems to work after I switch it on, so the
compressor appears to be working. Sooner or later I hear it stop and
the fridge/freezer gradually warms up. I can usually turn the thing
off and then on again and the compressor kicks off and starts to cool
it down.

In the forum message, it pointed towards item 491415 – Bosch Fridge
Freezer Thermistor Removal Kit.

Do you know if this sounds like the sort of thing I’d be after? And if it is,
is it the sort of job for DIY, or should I be looking for a proper repair
or even replacing the thing?

My Fridge/Freezer details are…

E-NR = KG31V04GB/06
FD 7905/05001
DA110E13RBY5 is also written on the compressor.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If the fridge freezer cuts out after approx 18 – 20 hrs but always restarts again after a switch off – switch on then it certainly sounds like the foamed in thermistor problem.

Its not a difficult job and can be carried out by any competent DIY’er. Its important to follow the instructions that come with the repair kit.

Power off if attempting repair
