Does it pump out?. If not have you checked the pump and filter?. Check your instruction book, it tells you in there how to do it 😉 .
Also if the m/c connects to the sink waste, check for blockage in there too.

Hi Boro,
It seems to pump out fine, I have checked for blockages and that the prump runs. It wont spin up on a spin cylce either just slowly turns for 10 mins until the cycle is over. I have checked the brushes, okay. Me thinks it may be something to do with the out of balance sensor?

Will it spin with no load in the m/c ?.
To be honest with you this is a seriously complex m/c and it may be worth getting an engineer in to look at it, as it may prove costly just throwing parts at it.
One other thing are there any fault codes displayed at all?.

Hi Boro,
It wil not spin without clothes in either. Got a friend looking at it, he is a wshing machine engineer and he is throiwng bits at it, like the spin board, problem is hwne he returns unused bits they charge him 30{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}, so it’s getting costly already. I suspect the machine is more complex than my friend is used to. Having checked the Siemens web site and the instruction book led me to think of the OOB sensor.
The fault was originally intermittent, i put it down to the wife not loading it properly, now it;s a hard fault. As for error codes, none!

Engineer friend just tried to swap the OOB sensor, no joy.

It could be the water level (analogue) pressure switch or the rinsing sensor?
The machine will not spin in a month of Sundays unless those 2 devices say so! 😉

Hi Martin,
I believe my engineer friend has swapped the water pressure switches as the first try, then the spin board and now the OOB sensor. I am really loathed to throw the machine away as it is only 3 years old, but I dont want to sink hundreds into repairing it. There is the sound of water gurgling whne the spin cylce starts, but I have been told this is the small amount of water that sits in the machine, is this right?

It is indeed, the pump is only a gravity fed pump not a suction pump so therefore there will always be around 250 ml of water left in the pump at any time!

The most likely cause of it not spinning has always got to be the motor brushes. They are the very first thing to wear out on any machine. Are you sure the motor brushes are fine and that the motor fully checks out?

Martin,
My dad who was an engineer has run the meter across the motor and it checks out fine, as for the brushes they are approx 30mm at the longest point and about 27mm at the shortest, at £35 each I cannot afford to throw brushes at it on a hunch or without just cause.

Fair do’s Tony, I fully understand, just a thought that’s all? 😉
