I got a funny feeling that Siemens did a promo thingy for a limited period a few years ago which was a free ten year warranty. Goatboy would remember if you can find him :rolls:

I’m pretty sure all the Siemens WIQ range of machines have a 10 year parts and labour guarantee.

No documentation, customer took over machine with house. I rang BSH they checked 5 year warranty not listed, then 10 year and said it was on the list.
Customer rang to arrange Callout with BSH they said no warranty, it must be with D&G :rolls: and gave them the number. Lady at D&G obviously did not have any record except extended warranty offer card sent out to that address and not returned.
Fault is doorseal has rubbed through 3’o clock, interlock wet and i suspect PCB is possibly damaged. Start does not lock door, but if you open door it says close door.Regards

Customer HAD to register for 10 year warranty.
By the sounds of it the top power module will need replacing….
Not cheap.

Guarantee’s are NOT transferrable to a third party anyway 😉

Eck the bill for parts only comes to 196 quid delivered 😯 minus trade discount. Do the power module tracks blow or does it fry semiconductors usually?

I’ve never noticed any blown tracks before TBH. But there is a triac on the board that controls the door lock/release I believe. You may be able to ID and replace it I suppose
I don’t get involved with board repairs, so it would be new interlock, door boot and board for me.
Nice little earner for you if she goes for it though 😉
