ParticipantMachine keeps stopping in either wash, rinse or final rinse cycles.
Was advised it could be to do with pump so this was replaced but fault still present. When it stops, if I move the control to off then back to the selected program, it seems to carry on from where it left off but this happens up to 5or 6 times during a program.
Would appreciate further advice.March 23, 2013 at 11:09 pm #392629Carefulmart

Just found out that it also stops on the spin cycle too. But switched to off, then back to program and it carried on to the end as normal.

There are many possibilities for this and ALL will need checking. It could be the : Heater? Power module? Air pressure system? Drain blockage? Mains filter? Or motor brushes and anything else I’ve forgotten would be checked by an engineer like myself as normal course of action……best of luck!
If you find the task too onerous then why not look for a local engineer to sort it for you? Find one HERE. 😀

Thanks for your prompt reply, Martin. I’ll try the easy stuff first, then get an expert in if necessary.

I realise it’s an old thread, but my partner’s same model has started doing the same, and I wondered if you had found a solution.

Yes, I did……the solution was that I threw it out after numerous attempts to fix and bought a Beko WMI 71641 for around £300.
(not like me…usually only buy German, but it came with a 2yr warranty, so thought I’d give it a try). Up to press, and we’ve had it for about 8 months, it is very good. We actually think it washes better than the Siemens, though it does seem to use more water.

A bonus is that the hinges match up with the cabinet door without any modification. I have a feeling (but please check) that the Siemens new models have moved the hinge positions so you would have to do some woodwork to make the cabinet door fit if you chose to stay with them.
Hope this helps.

Sorry, forgot to mention. The Beko machine mentioned above which I bought as a replacement, doesn’t have the tumble-drying facility. We never thought it was much good and hardly ever used it as we had a seperate tumble-dryer anyway.
