    Hi,

I was wondering if anyone there could advise me if the titled machine is worth the asking price. @£599 delivered it seems good with 5 year parts and labour. I know it is below the ‘durable’ £700 mark but cant quite manage that budget.

Just had the Panasonic NA-140VZ4 A+++ 10KG 1400 Spin Steam Washing Machine. Bought for £591 got £60 cashback + further cashback and thought I’d pulled a swift one getting it for £516 delivered but it developed a terrible noise issue. Parts and Labour 6 year warranty so I fully expected it to be problem free.

After engineer visit 6 when Panasonic sent out the wrong component for the second time the engineer advised call it a day.

To be fair Panasonic provided SSE with an uplift number and I’m getting all my dough back, and I do think I may have been unlucky. (Anyone know this machine and can tell me otherwise?)

If you have managed to read this far, could you advise me is the Siemens a good machine? I would hate to have to deal with the hassle of engineer’s visits and the like all over again. < No one can guarantee that wont happen I understand. P.S. It is John Lewis seller, good also?

Thanks to anyone for their help.

It’s a great machine and will serve you well. Your Panasonic story is all too typical of the brand by the way.

Hi, thanks for the advice. Just another question. Re: Samsung WW80H7410EW. any ideas if this is any good also. £689 + Offer £75 cashback so cost £614. Also 5 years parts and labour.

There’s too much choice out there.

Perhaps I should take your first response and go with that.

    😕

My experience could well be atypical, but see this:-

    Hi Peter,

I did google for information on the Siemens and came upon your experience first which brought me here,
Its always a chance… e.g. the Panasonic I bought had such great reviews I thought I was onto a winner there. Perhaps its that its almost a crapshoot buying these things unless you go for a miele etc. and unless they’re doing a 50{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} cashback instalment plan…well I am going to take a chance that your experience was the exception. Here’s hoping

    Thanks

    Hi Peter,

Didn’t rush into it in the end. I’m just curious have you sorted your machine and are you happy with the solution?

    Re: Siemens WM14Y590GB

Sorry for delay – haven’t been here for a while.
JL bore the cost of taking back the Siemens and offering a replacement (with any +/- adjustment on price).
New one arrives on Tuesday. It’s JL’s 8kg machine – during my period of indecision (partly due to strongly considering an ISE then rejecting it due to the lack of a Cotton 30 wash and also the dictat re. detergents, none of which suit me) the price dropped by £50.

Yes, it’s the dreaded AEG/Zanussi etc. group, but I’m hoping that, with a 3-year warranty, it’ll be OK. I’ve saved up some laundry so that I can give it a couple of loads inside the first 7 days to see if it’s got some hope of being OK.
