ParticipantJust bought one and am curious of where this thing was made.
The country of origin is not mentioned anywhere on the machine or packaging. There plenty of various stickers including those with serial number, product numbers and whatsnot but not one that bearing the “made in …” writing.Any ideas? The retailer (Peter Tyson) say they think it was made in Germany but they are not 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} sure.
Another thing is warranty – there is a sticker on the machine that says “5 years parts and labour warranty” but paperwork is talking about 2 years?
BTW, while we’re at it – what is the difference between this model and WT46E385GB apart from the former being part of 2010 collection and the latter is from 2011? I am struggling to see any difference between the two apart from the LCD look (yellow on 384 and white on 385), which is hardly worth mentioning.

And another thing – the dryer makes quite a loud clunking noise when operating. Is this how it should be or shall I be worried?

You must register your guarantee with them to ensure you get the full 5 years otherwise if you don’t you only get 2.

Only the observations you’ve already noted.

Be worried! Provided of course it’s not just a loose belt buckle, clasp, liquid detergent cap or a pair of those useless dryer balls rattling about inside? If not I suggest you contact the manufacturers service department and get someone to take a look at it.

Thanks Martin,
It is definitely not a loose buckle and I am not using dryer ball (what are these for, anyway?). I called Siemens and the guy on the phone said something like “Sorry, I don’t have a clue, but there is 5 yeard warranty, so don’t worry”.
I’ll try to call them once again, maybe this time I’ll speak to someone who knows their stuff. -
