weve had this heat pump tumble dryer just over 6 years now. I seem to remember the fan would occasionally come on to presumably cool the fridge unit down in the bottom of the appliance. for some time now I haven’t heard it.

is it thermostatically controlled? the only change is weve moved and it sits in a cooler room.

I doubt many, if anyone has any experience with those as they are low volume and most are likely to still be under a Siemens warranty.

There is a fan on the main drive motor and a small, looks to be a low voltage one, at the front. I presume the front one does as you think so, if the room was cooler then it’s all too likely it will need to draw in cool air less.

thanks for the reply. forgot to check back here.

have you got a service manual for one of these? or could tell me if the fan is stat controlled?

I’m a qualified electrician control panel engineer for 10 years and now a IT guy, so can usually fix most stuff.

thought id followup with the fix.

I removed the fan as it was quite easy to do, though broke one plastic retainer fitting the new one. I tested the fan and it was open circuit so replaced it with this one:

seems identical other than the last three numbers which are an oem part. I did have to retap an earth on another hole on the fan so it matched the original. but appart from that all good touch wood.
