siemens wt6608vgb/02 dryer

hi all
customer complaining of burning smell ,fluff filter torn so she ordered a new one but she says everytime she starts a cycle within a min it stops and starts beeping with clean filter light on.she opens and closes door and then it runs no problem..she says it has done this from day one.its about 7 years old.any ideas

Check for fluff around the heater element/thermostats and check ventilation is clear
