In the last few months there have been occasions where we have found powdered grey rubber on the clothes.
Clothes are gettimg stuck between the door seal and drum. If you pull back the seal where it meets the drum you can see where the seal is being worn away.
During the last wash a bra got stuck and has caused some tears.
The rest of the seal is in very good condition so I’m wondering if the damage is being caused by a fault in the machine rather than overloading or deterioration to the rubber.

As expected there is some movement of the drum unit within the casing. Perhaps I’m imaging it but in my mind the drum seems to move back and forwards (in and out) a bit too easily, is that normal?
If this movement is excessive could it allow clothes to get stuck between the drum and door seal?
I’ve taken the top off and the drum seems to be sitting central, concrete block is ok and the two springs seem in good condition. It’s difficult to see the two suspension rods at the bottom but as far as I can tell they are ok.

The machine is 4 years old but the seal is only about 2.5 years old.
It was changed by a Siemens engineer after it got pierced by a piece of metal.

Never had this problem with our previous washing machine that we had for 18 years.
Are we just simply overloading the machine or do we have a fault?

    Thanks for reading
