ParticipantI’ve had the error F04 twice now. First time I checked under the sink where the waste goes and cleaned out all the crud from there but didn’t check the pump itself. Wasn’t convinced that was the cause of the problem but the pump started working again.
This time I’ve tried opening the pump cover but can only turn it about 1/4 turn. I presume it’s supposed to go further than that before coming out? Is it possible that there’s something intermittently jamming the impellor which is also jamming the pump cover?
It’s under warranty, but I presume that I’m not covered for foreign objects jamming the pump?
TIA,
Jonathan

Correct on all counts….. Sounds like a classic bra wire problem. Exactly the right shape to get down the sump hose and turn into the pump chamber. Then it jams the filter…..
To fix it youself involves removing the front panel of the machine for access, before pulling the hoses off.
If you don’t feel competent, use the link below for a UKW engineer in your area – it’ll certainly be cheaper and possibly quicker.
Power off if you’re going to investigate the problem.

I guess I check in with the Siemens warranty people first and see what they offer (I’ve apparently got a 10 year parts and labour on the machine).
It looks like a six inch high panel at the bottom should come off to get to the underneath, would that give sufficient access to the pump inlet?
Thanks!
Jonathan

Hi
I think you will find the 10 year parts and labour is for breakdown and you will without doubt incur a charge if foreign debris has caused the fault 😯Greg

As I would suspect…..
Bit the bullet and took off the front (leccy off first). Removed a lolly stick AND a feather from the pump inlet.
Toddlers…….
