Siemens XLM1600 sometimes gets stuck on wash cycle

Hi,
Our machine is a Siemens XLM1600. Model No. WXLM166AGB/10
Recently the machine has started behaving erratically. First signs were that the short wash program started to take much longer than usual, and would occasionally get stuck on the wash part…refusing to go into rinse mode by itself.
So we started using the longer wash cycle, and this sometimes completes properly, sometimes gets stuck on wash.
I have fitted a new heater element and ntc sensor but this hasn’t changed anything.
This model does not display error codes of any kind.
I suspect a failing control module…do they have capacitors fitted to them as these could cause the board to malfunction if they are on their last legs?
Or is there something else I should investigate?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Control module fault by the sound of it. I don’t mess with them though just replace. Best of luck!
