I’m pretty much agnostic on religion as I am with most things in that, without proof nothing is real. To that end I don’t much hold with Christmas for the most part. In fact, I can’t be arsed with it, I’d rather be in the office doing something productive usually although I usually end up cooking for some strange reason around this time of year. Of course this year is no exception, I have already recieved my orders and I’m apparently cooking for whomsoever decides to appear on that fateful day. On the upside, if it all goes titsup, the Chinese is open.

But the kids love it, so I gotta do the whole Christmas thing. Drinking milk at midnight and breaking the carrot, hiding the remains well unless I feel so inclined to eat the bugger anyway. If the kebab shop is shut and enough eggnog (ha) is consumed then that’s a distinct possibility.

It does serve a purpose though, the whole Christmas and New Year thing in that it allows you to place a marker on the calender. It becomes an end and a begining and that is, unique. How you view it is up to you.

Personally I like to see it for what it is to me, a marker. It marks an end but also a beginining to a period of time. It can mean more, but that’s up to the person and it is not my place to infer any further significance, but it serves its purpose as a marker in time nonetheless.

To that end I’d like to, in advance as I will doubtless publish something, thank you all for you help, support and tireless work on my behalf this year. I don’t much care about anyone else or how you’ve helped hundreds of people, the people you’ve saved from being ripped off, the people you’ve saved money for. No, what I am acknowledging is the help that you’ve given me personally the past year in whatever way, oft without realising it I expect.

    Thank you and, Merry Christmas.

    K.
