I’ve just bought a new Bosch single oven (HBN430520B) to replace my old oven (which was also a Bosch). Since my old oven connected to the electricity supply via a 13A plug, then I assumed the new one would too. Unfortunately however when I looked at the rating on the new oven (3.5kW, 16A) this suggested otherwise. I suppose this is going to have to be a job for an electrician right?
Thank you Martin. You are correct, my old oven was just a fan oven. I hope the “Oven Spur” from the RCD box doesn’t need up-rating, otherwise its going to be a big job.
Hi Shaun
You should have had an installation sheet which will tell you what the ventilation criteria is and that it requires a 20A 2-pole spur for a feed.
Have sent you an copy via email for your fitter/electrician 😀
Thanks Greg, I got that. I’ve already got a big red cooker switch (2-pole spur??) on the wall that feeds a 13A plug socket behind the cooker. Any idea which bits will need to be changed?
