Hi
Just moved into new house and have a problem with what looks like an unused new oven.
It’s Whirlpool Type FCEM6 Mod APSFO/02/WH
There are 2 bar codes numbered: 854184015010 & 140236001419 respectively.
The grill function works perfectly and heats up fully.
However, when on the oven function, an earth protection RCB on my distribution board blows after about 30 secs of being on.
NB Its not the RCB for the oven circuit that trips.
Its an RCB that trips if there is an earth fault?
Tested the earth for continuity on the oven case- all ok.
No other appliances are on the ring.
So to sum up, the Appliance doesn’t trip the earth RCB when on grill and fan assisted grill function.
But it does trip it (but not immediately) after approx 30sec in oven mode no matter what temp the oven is set to.
Going to contact Whirlpool customer service tomorrow see if they can help.
As I said, the oven looks brand new. The grill element smelt like new when switched on; no heat discoloration anywhere on outer casing or inner body and seals.
Any suggestion would be appreciated eg known faults/product recalls on the make/model.
Thanks
Fan oven element shorting. 😉 This is a common problem with all fan ovens across all makes. The element can be found behind the oven back panel (inside the oven). Unscrew this and the circular element will probably be blown or misshapen.
The element will be readily available from Shop@: click the banner.
Power off, plug out before any inspection. :plug: Stay alive!!
