Hi Steve
Is the sios as good as the TDS disk ? does it have fault finding and repair instructions for the American type appliances as I would be interested in one if so or is it just a parts catalogue.Mark 🙂

In all honesty probably not as good as TDS but it offers parts breakdowns and wiring etc for most of the range new and old.

When SIOS first came out they basicly copied everything that used to be on the microfich including the tech manual and stuff. Now all we get on the disc is the parts, circuit diagram and a technical data page which just give the specs, sizes and wattages etc. Not much in the way of useful technical stuff for an engineer like you might find on TDS or Pro corner. The odd service manual is on there but dont count on it.

It seems Steve no longer works for Maytag as his email address is no longer active?
I’m after a new SIOS disk and would appreciate another contact source. 😀

Yeap Mike Rayner, he is very helpful, as regards SIOS it fails to provide any useful technical information which is a shortcoming just like Partfinder. The partfinder version that the HP engineers have is great nothing like the poor offering that Indesit wanna charge far too much money for. In my opinion the TDS disk was the benchmark of how a resources disk should be, its just a shame that they decided to stop it !
