KeymasterGuys, I just noticed somthing tonight! 💡
We’ve done almost 1.45 million hits already or at least we’ll pass that in a day or two. We only passed 1 million a week after UKW was a year old on the 15th June! According to a quick mental tally that means we will pass 1.5 million in the first week of October most probably.
Discounting semantics and faffing about that means that we may well be on target to pass 2 million by the end of the year or be as close as dammit!!!
That’s not so stunning until you realise that it is almost a four fold increase in traffic in a scant few months.
Booger, now that IS progress indeed.

ParticipantGood innit? Astronomic even! Hopefully the Public are benefitting from our combined efforts and (maybe) we are beginning to get others to listen.
Can I make a few points to this small group? Without bragging, we’re covering the great majority of posts and queries, the bulk of which are in the Public Forums. We must get our presentation right – spelling, even grammar! These are the ones that everyone can see, and it does affect people’s “impression” of UKW!
TBH, I’ll hit Preview to check this before posting and still not notice the spelling mistake!
Sorry, but I think it’s important and we few are the most visible part of UKW!
Even so 1.5m by the end of the year – phenomenal!

KeymasterEhm Chris, try 1.5m in a week or so, if that!
2m all too possible before the end of the year.
In all honesty the actual posts are, in general and as a rule, superb. Many of them I have been very surprised about as they have been very cleverly crafted as to not give too much information, but enough that may lead to a cure.
If I do anything really long, I just do it in Word as it saves proof reading a few times and eliminates silly spelling errors. Grammatically it can still be wrong with it’s squiggles though. 😉

ParticipantPoint – should proof read what I read as well as what I write!
Still fantastic though.

KeymasterRe: Site Progress
Well you may have noticed that we have notched up another 100,000 in just over two weeks! What’s more astonishing about that is that we should have lost at least four days with the weekends/holidays but we really didn’t lose much, if any, ground at all.
It gets even more apparent how far we’ve come when you look at the Christmas day figure, this year on that day we took ~3500 page views, in 2003 on the same day we had… 55!!!
In the first four days of this year which includes three bank holiday days/weekend and one Scottish bank holiday we’ve had over 30,000 views already as I post this. So yes, 5 million by year end is not a totally outrageous figure to work with.
And, we’ve a few surprises in store too. 😈

KeymasterRe: Site Progress
Being bored this morning I had a peep at the stats.
Looks as if we’ll pass 3 million by the end of this month if the traffic holds and there’s an outside chance, with any boost at all, that we may even just scrape 1 million for this year in total. Which is over half of last year’s entire traffic in a quarter. Pretty good stuff.
Gets better though, looking at the advanced stats we have had this month;
15896 unique visitors after bots etc are eliminated, over 1000 visitors a day basically.
Also 71.1 {e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of traffic looked at UKW from a direct link or bookmark, given that each visit represents 56 page views that would mean that people are returning to it, often. And an estimated 5{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of traffic have added UKW as a “favourite” site. 🙂

If the traffic holdsat this level try 6 million by the end of the year, 5.5 million with zero growth, or thereabouts.
With any growth, hell knows, I gave up trying to figure out the growth of UKW a long time ago. 😆
