siwamat 5100 does not spin out

Can anyone help please.

I have an old (12yrs plus) siwamat 5100 which has just decided to stop spinning out.

The drum turns a couple of times but will not properly spin and does not drain enough water to release the door lock.

Any ideas what could be the problem? Is it worth repairing or just biting the bullet with a new one?

Problem is a new one is going to be £750 plus as it has to be hinged on the right.

from the description you have water left in the machine

its either blocked socks etc or the pumps gone. if the pump has gone it will not pump out at all. if its blocked it will pump out but very slowly.

if its got a filter check it

Thanks for the response.

It does drain most of the water out, just not enough to open the door (no matter how many times you put the spin on) and you can here the pump going.

My concren is more that it does not spin, it only turns over a couple of times.

It will not spin until all the water is gone,so you need to check the filter and drain pipe.
