ParticipantHello – this is my first post (repeated from the General Enquiries & Questions forum), here goes: My old slimline Tricity DD936 fridge freezer has just finally given up the ghost and I’m looking for recommendations for a replacement. Having had the same model for so many years, I’m out of date with which features are the best ones to have nowadays (eg is it best to have frost free?) or which makes and models are the better ones to go for (or which ones to avoid). I am limited by the width which can’t be more than 50 cm and would like one that is at least the same height as the DD936 namely 163cm, so as not to end up with a smaller capacity. I would also prefer one that has the same size fridge as freezer.
Any suggestions would be very welcome. Many thanks, JaneAugust 25, 2016 at 5:59 pm #440467kwatt

Hi Jane,
Please only post to one forum, repeatedly posting the same thing only confuses and people don’t know what post to answer.
You are right, you’ll be extremely limited with the size restrictions and I expect you will have very little choice.
All I could find on a quick scan was a couple of LEC and Fridgemaster models, the latter made by Hisense Kelon and the former probably the same thing rebranded.
Anything else the same size will almost for sure be a rebrand of one of those cabinets.
To be perfectly honest, I couldn’t find any good choices at all.

Hi Jane
Bear with me but I may have a bit of news tomorrow when I’m back in the shop.

Hi
Sadly my plan was not the correct one as it only covered under counter refrigeration. Apart from the machines K suggested the only other name would be the Montpellier range. Same genre but with a two year guarantee.

Thanks very much K and Don – I have checked out the ones you suggest and had seen some Lec ones before. I also found Amica but know nothing about any of these brands in terms of reliability. Nothing seems to be available in 50cm wide that exactly fits the bill – either not tall enough or not frost free or both. Thanks for your help anyway – much appreciated.
