    Re: Slow Carriers

you should check you are still getting your dhl deliveries from dhl business and not dhl home delivery as the dhl home delivery is done by bored housewives and the retired
apparantly its cheaper for the wholesaler to use that rather than dhl business
not that they pass it on to us

    Re: Slow Carriers

I don’t usually have any problems with deliveries from Connect or Qualtex they always arrive the next day if delivered by the carrier themselves (DHL for Connect).

I have found that if I make a small order with Connect the parcel is sometimes sent by post but i am still charged the £5.50+vat carriage charge.

(I haven’t checked the post office charges but i am sure they are a lot less than £5.50+vat)
Then the parcel might not arrive until 3 days later.

This does p*** me off especially if I have told the customer that I can get the part the next day.

Connect told me that it was the carrier (DHL)who was sending the smaller parcels by post not them.

Yep, had this, DH hell delivery just before 8pm one night, some boy racer in 20 year old BMW with hugh spoilers and mod kits fitted everywhere. Hardly any room for parcells ‘cus his parcel shelf was taken over by speakers only just small to fit in his car. This was 2 days after they had apparently called and outcarded it. That day some one was in most of the day and we got no card…!!

I’ve stopped promising cusotmers next daydelivery but tell them 90{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the time I can get it next day subject to delivery. DH Hell delivery is up to 8pm and most others are up to 6pm – don’t fancy going out at 8pm.

That said, Masterpart have gone back to using City Link and they’re not too bad. They even follow the instructions for when customers are out. Most of the time though the same couriers use the same drivers in our area and If I’m in when they deliver I try and make the effort to be sociable and even offer them a brew. They never take one of course becuase they’re too busy but do seem to get better service. Most of the time it’s not the overworked delivery driver that’s at fault.

    Steve 😀 😀 😆

    Re: Slow Carriers

Whenever my delivery from Connect turns up more than 1 day after ordering I phone them to lodge a complaint and to tell them I wont be paying the postage. I always get a refund.

    Re: Slow Carriers

Expected a delivery from DHL last fri but knew they would not deliver due to the snow. By tracking found it was at local depot so phoned to ask if I could collect.
Poor woman on phone said ” dont think we will be able to find it got 4500 parcels here waiting and another 1500 due in later. We cant find a thing!!”
Finally arrived on Wed. Driver said they were about half way through getting sorted but there was another 2000 due in that night!

    Re: Slow Carriers

best place for tvs …online is john lewis
free 5 year warranty with any tv ….

we bought one 2 years ago for my boys room 32inch flat screen etc , at the time £60.00 cheaper that comet currys , came with free delivery..

just had it replaced as it broke down and to expensive to repair …so they supplied a new one with another 5 years warranty and gave us £130.00 back as they reckoned that new one wasnt same spec as the one we bought 2 years ago..

i dont think you can get much better than that… we have since bought another 2 tvs from them..

ohhh yeh dhl … make sure you are registered with them as a buisness, cos if you dont they think you are joe bloggs and send the morons..
i think they have a system that knows your add is residential .. so if you work from home make sure they know add is buisness…
