i have a customer with a ISE 5 purchased 30/11/2006, complaining that it is taking longer and longer to complete programmes, 40c normal wash now taking three hours, also out of balance recognition getting very ‘fussy’ erratic on washes and almost always will not spin after hand washing.
Good water pressure, pumping normally into stand pipe, normal checks show no faults

    Any sugestions?

Are there wash time charts available for this machine?

    Regards

I would take the sump hose off the pump filter and have a look to see if a coin or something is flapping about in there? 😉

Have you had a chat about expierimenting with the ‘quick wash’ button?

40 degree wash taking 3 hours? There must be something amiss that needs dealing with properly.

Usually a 40C wash will run about 2 hours to two hours twenty but that’s obviously dependent on the usual variables. That’s totally normal.

If you get an OOB after that it can add a good ten minutes or so whilst it tries to sort the load out.

The only way it can take in longer is if you change the variables, water pressure and inlet temperature being the obvious culprits if there’s no easily identifiable fault, like the heater, but any like that should throw up an error code.

Or is it perhaps the customer being more and more impatient? 😉

Accusing the customer of being impatient because a 40 degree wash takes 3 hours is a bit … er .. impatient?

3 hours is a joke. No one can spare 3 hours for a 40 degree wash in 2007.

Err, Andy… but it’s only two years old even if it is a Hoover Logic.

The implication wasn’t on the time if correct, more on the customer’s perception of time.

I just meant a 40 degree wash taking 3 hours (if it was indeed taking 3 hours) shouldn’t be normal. It sounded a bit sharp the way I wrote it, didn’t mean it to be.

I’m sure you’ll find that as 7 days has elapsed since sparkey asked the question the matter will surely have been resolved? 🙂

Hopefully he will let us know the conclusion to end our speculation? 😉
