I have a Smart Drive 051 (Model MW051-F). On any wash/rince or spin settings, the machine tries to start but immediately both water solenoid valves clunk shut and the agitator wont start. It cycles though this start/stop process 3 times before the beeping starts (every sec) and the lights show 00010000 pattern only.
However, if I go into the Diagnostic program the light pattern is 10000011.
I have checked the OOB switch and it seems fine.
    Any answers?

Rotor Position Sensor problem – usually corroded/dodgy contacts at the motor end. Can be motor controller board, but thisis less common.

A tip to test the rotor position sensor. Hold the lid safety switch under the front key panel in while you turn the machine on. This is best done by removing the lid. Just open it and lift out. Start the machine and as it starts to fill, the agitator should turn while the machine is filling. If the agitator does not turn, the rotor sensor will fail to send a signal to the computer to tell it that the rotor is turning, and the computer suspends filling for a few seconds and then has another go. If you notice that the agitator does not turn then try turning it by hand while filling is taking place and if filling contiunues then you know that the rotor sensor is working OK. At this stage you should focus your attention on the main controller board or the motor to see why the motor is not turning.

    Good luck

    Andrew
