KeymasterI have a smartdrive 703. A couple of weeks ago it stopped washing and made a humming sound when turned on. We called the F&P service guy and he came out and removed a couple of items that were blocking the pump. He couldn’t remove the bowl as he said there were burrs on the shaft?
The machine worked fine for a couple of weeks, but now it just stops during filling and won’t restart. No lights flash and there are no beeps. I got the machine to work a couple of times by turning off the power for over an hour and then starting with a medium water level setting. But now that does’nt work either.
Any help would be great or a diagnostic manual if anyone has one.

Turn machine OFF on the front panel. Hold down the Water Temp Down button and press the POWER button. Release buttons. You are in Diagnostic mode. Press the spin speed up button until the hold and slow are lit. Write down the LEDS which are lit across the top row of progress LEDS. and post back. 😀

Thanks for the reply Mr Kiwi,
not sure if I have done this right, but here goes
I followed your instructions, and when I hold down the power button/WT button and release, all the lights light up and then go off except the High water level button and the Low water level button.
I get the following combinations of LED’s on the progress line as follows;
Spin LED’s Lit LED’s Lit (1=Lit)
Fast 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 1 1 1 1
F/Hold 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 0 0 1
F/Slow 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 1 0 1 0
F/M/S 0 0 0 0 0 1 0 1 0 1 0
F/M/S/H 0 0 0 0 1 0 1 0 1 1 1
All other combinations produced no lit LED’s on the progress bar.
Any assistance would be appreciated..

There seem to be too many 0’s in your codes, please try again, holding down the WT down button then press power and release both. To access the fault status, the slow and hold l.e.d’s must be illuminated, if they are, and there is no fault recorded, then it could be a user fault or too intermittant to be picked up by the W/M. 😕

Sorry Mr Kiwi,
I was counting the three delay LED’s as well. These are the readings.

Everything works when in diagnostic i.e. pump, valves etc…and I have completely emptied the machine. The machine now refues to start a cycle at all. Last try it gave one short burst of water (less than a sec) and every time since has refused to do anything. It may be worth noting that when the technician came out, he could not remove the bowl from the shaft due to a burr. I have since polished the shaft with emery so the bowl will move up and down, but still have not been able to remove it fully.

To remove the bowl, unscrew the cover of the clutch/spline in the bottom of the bowl, and , if your legs will allow, one foot on the floor and one foot on the shaft, and pull up on the bowl, with the top tilted back of course. See if this helps. Check the bowl shaft and clutch/spline for dammage. 😉
