smeg 50×80 range cooker

Changed the fan oven element on this cooker as the original had a hole in it. The wiring has been put back right but when the selector is switched to fan oven I get no supply to the element. When I select the bottom oven element and fan selection they work but I also get a supply to the fan oven element but the element does not get hot enough.
Any suggestions?

We’ve had plenty of these with failed selector switches..usually down to loose connections which can also happen elsewhere particularly the connector blocks at the back 😉
