ParticipantDuring cooking tonight the oven stopped working. Having run some tests it looks like the fan is not working neither is the grill element or any of the oven elements…conventional or fan. Also, the thermostat light is not working. The oven lights come on when the door opens. Any ideas?
Thanks

Either a safety thermostat (that might reset on its own, or not) possibly a switch or terminal block issue or the oven timer is kaput.
Check in that order would be my suggestion.
But first ensure it hasn’t somehow managed to find it’s way to an auto setting:

Hi Kwatt.
I had a look at this cooker this evening: The terminal blocks all look good and clean and the oven timer seems to be working (it resets ok). I think testing the safety thermostat is beyond me ( I am not even sure where it is… but I guess it is somewhere behind the front control panel?). I think I am capable of replacing a thermostat if you think it is the next thing to try? if so can you supply the part?October 14, 2013 at 7:14 pm #402785kwatt

The safety thermostat will most likely be buried inside on the top of the oven cavity itself and they can be a right pain to get to.
I’m not sure on this particular model where the thermostat is located exactly but they’re usually easy enough to spot once you get into the oven. I don’t have access to tech on it here at home to tell you more.
I would think that the thermostat is available though and if you drop an email to Dave on spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk he can probably get you a blowout that will give you a clue as well as details of the part.

Many thanks K, you have been very helpful. I will do as you suggest. Even if it does not work I like to have a go at these sort of jobs. A big thank you for pointing me in the right direction. I maybe a few days before I do the job (as I’m away later in the week) but I will let you know how I get on when I’ve done it. Kind regards, S

Hi K… I have just received the safety thermostat from Dave. I used my initiative to fit it as he did not have a technical drawing (but I am guessing there is only one safety thermostat?). Unfortunately the oven is still not working. When I turn the oven on and turn up the thermostat, the temperature red light does not come on. Does this help diagnose the fault? Rgds S
