One of the burners on my cooker will have the spark happen, and the gas flowing fine. But when I let go (cause it looks like the burner is lit), it just goes out.

I’ve had issues with the cooker before where the burner just cuts out. This, of course, makes me think that there’s an issue with the gas, but no other burner has this problem.

I really really hate this cooker, but can’t afford to get a new one. Any help appreciated.

    Hi ekehoe

Sadly we are unable to advise on gas repairs due to forum rules You may be able to find an engineer who can help in the link above your original post titled “find an engineer”.

There is also the http://www.gassaferegister.co.uk/ which has a search facility.

    HTH 🙂

It’s just he thermocouple faulty by the sound sound of it, common enough fault.

Or, the thermocouple isn’t grounded properly which was also very common on these Smeg cookers.

In either case, it should be cheap enough to put right.

    K.
