The cooling fan for the whole oven has stopped working. This is the one that blows air across the top of the oven and over the control surfaces This has had the effect of breaking the oven selector switch as the plastic melted and contacts failed.

I have replaced the fan (and the oven selector switch, although that will not be the cause) but still the fan does not come on. I suspect the temperature switch/thermostat so bought Cooling Fan Control Thermostat part no 818731036. However I cannot find where this is at the back of the oven. I do see two square thermostats/relays? for each oven but cannot find the cooling fan thermostat.

    Full Model Number is A2 2da 49at2735

Any ideas where this is? Or maybe there is a version of the A2-2 that does not use this control thermostat?

    Many thanks
    John

Re: Smeg A2 2da Cooling Fan Problems

it will be somewhere bolted to the metal work of the oven normally in the top somewhere but don’t know this model well enough to be certain

one thing a can say is one of the wires feeding the fan should go to the stat so if you trace it back through them harness you should find it

with the power off of course

Thanks Dave, going to have another go tonight. I will trace the fan wires this time.
