Can anybody tell me what size of circuit breaker should be fitted to the consumer unit for a Smeg A2, dual fuel, double electric oven.

    Cheers

IIRC a 32A should do the trick?

Re: Smeg A2 circuit breaker question

Thanks Clive, that’s what I was thinking. Reason I asked was that this customer had a service contract with Scottish Gas and they sent an “electrical guy” to have a look at a problem. He took one look at the 32A circuit breaker that was fitted, and refused to touch the cooker until an electrician had changed it for a 20A one (at the customer’s expense). Subsequently, the cb kept tripping. They also messed up the cooker big time, claimed that the parts were unavailable (outright lie) and eventually wrote off the cooker. The money (Comet voucher) that they gave him was a fraction of the replacement cost of a Smeg A2. That’s when he called me. Managed to sort it at reasonable cost, but I believe that the cb need changing for a bigger one.

    Dave
