    Hi Folks

Triple glass type door -Inner Door Glass had shattered.. Got replacement door glass – when fitting noticed that the original looked like it was either glued or bedded down on a brown mastic type sealent.. Phoned NEFF they say no sealent listed so not required… But that was only the spares dept..

Do I still need to bed the glass onto a sealent?.. If so what type, make etc.

    Or is it ok without?

Have NEFF made a mistake sealing inner glass and this is why it shattered in the first place and now a change of policy?

    Comments appreciated 🙂

    Thanks

I assume when you say neff you mean Smeg?
On the a2 the inner is not glued in any way. Some times they seem to come away cleaner from the frame than others. We have never bothered with any mastics.
I was always under the impression the glass had to be supported equally to avoid it shattering,Personally i cant see mastic would help..

Make sure you check the oven stat is working as these fail often causing the inner glass to shatter.
