I hope this is in the correct forum.

I have to replace the oven switch in a Smeg A4-5 main oven – one that is new to me. This cooker is between two sections of worktop and cupboards underneath. Does anyone have experience with this cooker and know whether I can access the switch by removing just the front panel?

If the hob also has to be removed, can this be done without bringing the cooker forward, or do I need to allow for another person to help with that aspect?

    Any thoughts appreciated!

I’m afraid that to get to those the cooker has to come out and the hob deck lifted, there’s no alternative.

Many thanks for this. I clearly was hoping for a different answer, but at least I know where I am. A two-man job, I think! Thanks.
