I have a diplomat ADP8242 customer reported that lights 4 and 5 flashing. I do realise that this is not an proper error code.

So doing a search I found the advice from Penguin and Eastlmark regarding corruption, so I went along armed with this knowledge.

Checked the machine. What is actually happening is., there is the normal pump fill period then when the proper fill starts after a few seconds machine aborts and pumps out.

Error code 7 ie lights 1,2 and 3 flashing 5 steady, my Fault Code Guide tells me “Flow meter detected when not fitted reset required” To be honest I’m not sure if I understand what this means.

To further confuse things if I close the door again all lights go out, open the door again 4 and 5 come on steady.

I used a spare solenoid to check the dispenser, no luck fault persisted.
    I didn’t have a spare mains filter so I couldn’t check this.

I noticed and repaired burnt connections on the element.

Could anyone tell me please what E7 actually mean and what I can do about it.

    Cheers David

Re: Smeg ADP 8242 E7 Error

you need to reset the pcb

    heres how

    Reset procedure for the PCB

With the door open, turn on the appliance and within three seconds push 4 times on the program selection button – The test program has been selected if the SOAK and STRONG LED’s are flashing
This LED combination represents the test program for the appliances that have a flow meter.

    on-off-off-off-on

If the above indication is not shown on the appliance, switch the appliance off and try the sequence again until the above LED’s are shown on display.
Now push on the program button once more to select the version ‘without flow meter’, check that the SOAK
LED goes out, and the display is indicated as below.

    off-off-off-off-on

Do not close the appliance door, to complete settings switch the appliance off.
Now switch the appliance ‘on’ and test on a SOAK program.
