Just to let you all know, I invoiced Servevast twice for £10 gas notification charge on top of the normal install rate and they paid both without questioning them 😉

Re: Smeg and the notification charge

On the same subject re Servevast.

They only pay us the measly sum of £36 on non-gas calls & £38 on gas. Revue on gas seriously in need of adressing, especially where the notification is concerned.

MFI pay us £41 and if we get an MFI call through the Servevast route, we have to invoice Servevast.

You can bet your sweet bippy I’m invoicing Servevast @ £41 for these & getting it. If they, (Servevast) come the old acid and insist on £36 or whatever, I will tell them what I get from MFI and they are to pay me the same or find a new agent.

I had this with AIS where we were getting less for MFI calls via their system. AIS refused to up the sum to MFI levels, so I told them to get stuffed. To be honest I blame MFI as they insist we bill who-so-ever passed us the call. Crazy really as they then pay Servevast £54 for the job done. BTW, I didn’t say that figure you must have dreamt it.

As regards L.G.H. for MFI, I send the invoice straight to LGH to cut out the middle man & speed up my payment received. Saves at least 3 weeks in getting paid.

In essence someone is taking the piss.

Same old story Alex, where it’s direct work it tends to be okay and balanced (unless it’s Whirlpool ) but where it’s through one of the middle-men we’re the poor bastards that end up getting shafted.

I will not forget JF telling me that he saw Dean’s nice new Porche every morning on the way to work.

But if you seriously want to get rid of clowns like this we have to be a lot better prepared and organised than we currently are. I may have already given that a moment’s thought. 😉

Re: Smeg and the notification charge

A couple of things you can get £42 from Servevast for all U/g calls and late forties for third party work invoiced through Servevast, third party work can be invoiced direct to the insurance compaines as long as when you ring for authority numbers you introduce yourself as a Smeg agent and not as XYZ. The rates for these are £55. Becareful though Millers wont pay the agents only to Servevast. Be careful how you use this information don’t all rush at once.

Re Corgi charges: I have found out recently that Comet are not at present paying the Corgi registration charges and are taking Corgi to task over the matter. This could either cost Comet a fortune or if they win Corgi could have to stump up a major refund to the industry.

This is where maunfactures independents and work providers should have stood together on the matter. Correct me if Im wrong but wasn’t this just a charge imposed by Corgi and not a legal requirement by the goverment

Don’t suppose anyone has a contact in Comet that may be dealing with this do they?

It may be a golden opportunity to shag CORGI and win a friend. 😉

Re: Smeg and the notification charge

Had a good chat with Mark today and this cropped up in conversation.

I think it’s desperately important that we are seen to support Comet on this, it’s in our interest and it is not in our interest to fall out with Comet, someday they may need us to bail them out again. 😉

Politics aside on the service, if they want to pay for it and have us aid the cause then I’m up for that, anyone have a problem with it?

Nope, but please elaborate a little 😉

I understand Comet are to take Corgi to task via the courts over the notification issue…..yes?

    And what else ? 😀

Mark is trying to find out more from Comet, getting someone in Comet with a brain and high enough up the ladder to know anything is proving a challenge though.

Until we find out exactly what they’re up to it’s hard to speculate, but if it’s a case of Comet’s in a huff over the charge then that suits us. Bugger all point in it now anyway since the retailers booted out their side of notification.
