ParticipantHi, a pals mum has a Smeg oven Mod42016 Type No68 according to the plate. It runs up to 170C then resets the logic back to startup, Sometimes it will run up further but it is not predictable. The reset is instant, no wait time as if an overheat sensor is faulty, any ideas guys,
Patrick

not a correct model number there. Would suggest a good look at the terminal block first.

Hi, and many thanks for taking the time to reply, I am fairly sure I copied all the information down correctly from the plate inside the oven door, what should the model number look like, ie in terms of digits and length, ?
Kindest Regards

no real pattern to smeg model numbers. double ovens can be DO****
single ovens SO****
or just letters and numbers such as SUK***
or UK***
or F****infact looking at the list it could be anything….except 4016!
ps, sorry this post looks like a lot of bad language!

Hi, many thanks for taking the time to reply, it looks as if the bottom part of the label is missing, Smeg quite unhelpful, servevast website show nearest Engineer 30 miles away and the won’t cover my area. So no help there. I have removed the oven to workshops, If I disconnect the oven temp sensor the display shows off1, so it know the sensor is missing, I have tried other random sensors but non help. I have a situation now where on setting the clock and calling up the oven or grill or fan oven setting the unit kicks off for a rew seconds, and the reverts to power up, ie no clock settings. Its as if the board is unable to hold power to the electronics and therefore drops out. Any thoughts ? If I wanted to obtain a board how do I identify the item ?
Kindest Regards
Patrick

Post some decent photos of both sides of the board and I may be able to help you track down the dodgy component.
