ParticipantHi to you all
I have a Smeg C92GPX8 dual fuel cooker and oven.
When I turn the oven on, to any setting, and turn the temperature control up, the oven light flashes twice, accompanied by 5 beeps from the rear panel, a couple of relays clicking, then nothing else.
The fan in the oven doesn’t turn, there is a whirring, fan type noise from the top of the oven at the rear, the front panel light is not lit, and no heat is forthcoming.
Inside the back panel, there are a couple of wires, one earth, the other I can’t identify, that are somewhat blackened as they were very near the gap at the rear of the oven where the element passes through. They don’t look as though they have burnt right through, but they are definitely scorched.
I have some knowledge and experience of electronics, so feel confident enough to attempt repairs, but am uncertain how to diagnose the issue.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

ParticipantThanks for the reply, I can’t see any way of identifying fault codes, nothing on screen. Not sure if there is a door lock mechanism either.

ParticipantThanks for the reply. The only thing I can see in the manual about the door lock, is that it becomes operational with the Pyrolytic clean function and not during normal cook function.
The circular element at the rear, and the fan assist mode both seem to work now and it seems to be heating up. When I try the top and bottom element plus fan, the light flashes twice followed by the beeps. I am assuming either bottom or top element aren’t working. How does one gain access to these elements? The oven light is also not working.
Any advice is greatly appreciated, I’m hoping to be able to diagnose this with some help, and to be able to fix it up myself.
