    Hi,

I have an SE2640TC1 Smeg hob which is just over 10 years old although limited use. It is mounted above a Smeg fan oven.

For a few months occasionally on mains power up the LED display would come on with the entire display lit including for example all of the plate temperature lights at 8. After a little time they would go off and it would revert to normal.

A few weeks ago the problem became permanent and now all the lights come on the display irrespective of how long they are on for.

The hob still functions and responds to the buttons. It is even possible to cook on it but difficult to know what the plate temperature is. It appears to just be the display and there are no error messages.

I have had a look at the PCB and re-flowed some joints. There is nothing that looked to me obviously wrong.

I just wondered please if anyone had experienced this problem before and/or got any suggestions.

    Thank you very much indeed.

    Matthew
