Whether you need the genuine or not depends on whether or not you want the flood protection or not, or Aquastop.
If you don’t want that then there are far cheaper alternatives., like a standard fill hose, although I wouldn’t advise it.
I’m sure that we can do better on price but by how much I don’t know without looking, an email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk should provide an answer tomorrow.

Hi,
Can you describe in detail what the flood protection actually does? The pipe snapped on the dishwasher end of my last one and that caused quite a flood untill I found the stop tap. I have fitted a standard pipe at the moment. Do you think this will be ok?
Many thanks for all your help in advance

Hi,
Just to add from my last post, I tried the dishwasher for the first time using the universal inlet pipe and water started to leak from the inside of the machine. I had to turn it off as didn’t want to cause any damage. Any ideas? This is becoming a nightmare 🙁Thanks

Basically it shuts off the water when it detects a leak, hence the big valve type affair at the connection to the mains water.
It sounds as if you’ve got another problem though that’s caused the inlet pipe to lock out. You’d have to find out where the leak is coming from before putting it right.

Right- I have eventually got the side panal off and identified where the leak is coming from. Its one of the fill compartments on the side and its leaking from the join.Looks like when I pulled the machine out it must have moved from where it was originally seated. I have put it back and will do a full wash and see what happens.
If I need to remove the large plastic piece connected to the side of the machine where I think the water must enter the in side of the machine to comence washing, how do I go about this? This may have to come off if I’m to get a good seal where it fills from on the joins.
Hope that makes sence and any assistance greatly appritiated
Chris
