Complaint of stopping mid cycle. Asked her to set it running and leave it in time for my visit.
Sure enough it was sat there doing nothing, the selected programme light was on steady, water still in the tub, customer has never seen any flashing lights or possible fault codes.
Says it has been acting up for months, apparently a few weeks ago it stopped and she meant to try and cancel it and set to rinse but forgot. A couple of hours later she heard the dispenser drawer open and it then went for a while before stopping again. She had been getting it to continue by setting it to rinse before but it will not even do that now.
I cancelled the programme and set it to a rinse only programme and it drained out perfectly.
Set it to another rinse and it seemed to take an age draining ( I know they do take a while) before it filled, washed for about 8 or 10 minutes then stopped dead with the rinse light on steady and full of water.Reset and tried again, this time it drained, filled and stopped after about 3 minutes of washing.
A bit of an awkward built in job, had a quick look behind the lower panel and everything looks clean and dry, both motors seem to run smoothly.
She says that every time she tries it now it stops after 5 to 10 minutes but never gets to release the detergent.
I am aware of all of the nasty things a faulty detergent solenoid can cause but this dispenser was only fitted about 2 years ago to cure a leak from the dispenser gasket.
The absence of any error codes leaves me a little perplexed. 😳
Any suggestions gratefully received. 🙂
Jim.

need to get your meter hooked up to the circ pump and check for voltage when it dies, could be the toc in the windings cutting out. If no voltage then nothing for it but PCB.

Hi Mark,
I did suspect that it may be that, would that stop the cycle completely though, would the programme not continue to the end or give an error message.
Just to test out this possibility I set it to a rinse programme and waited until it knocked off.
I have asked the customer to leave the machine like this and keep an eye on it for the next couple of hours to see if it starts up again which it should if the TOC resets.
Either way it sounds expensive. 😥
