Not sure about that model number, customer just been on the phone.

Reports that machine makes a funny ‘rattling’ noise when it should be filling and heater appears to be on with little or no water in it allowing element to glow and start to give of burning smell.

Done the odd Smeg job, only part I carry is the odd detergent dispenser.

    Any pointers.

    Jim.

Oh, forgot to add, she wants it mending before Christmas. 😯 :rolls: 😆

PL426X is a valid model – probably 14 years old by now. Mechanical timer job; water level control by air bell at front of sump moulding. Don’t think I’ve ever seen one……..

    I’ll send you some info.

    Chris.

could be an impellor parted company with the the circ pump motor, the thread rusts away, new circ pump is the only cure.

    Thanks folks.
Its about time she splashed out on at least one appliance. Lives in a huge detached stone property, an aged Hoover Softwave that I have cajoled along for some time now. Fitted a new seal to a geriatric AEG oven last week. I somehow don’t think this one will be repaired before Christmas. :rolls:
