Smeg DF612SDX Any Good???????

Hi

Currys are replacing my Kenwood KDW12ST3A which has finally given up the ghost after 2 years of very poor service!!!

They currently have a Smeg DF612SDX on sale for around £340. Is this machine any good? I would like to get a stainless model as the other white good in my kitchen are all SS.

Any comments would be much appreciated.

They’ve had a few issues with the PCBs in the newer dishwashers, we changed quite a few.

I’d say it was “okay” but not wonderful.

That said, it is likely to be better than the Chinese Kenwood was. 😉

The Kenwood really was bad. The guy who came and had a look at it decided to scrap it within 30 seconds of looking at it!!!! Only bought it because it looked good. Wish I had seen this forum 2 years ago.

My other option is the Smeg DF614BE. Not sure what the difference is between that and the DF612SDX? Is it worth the bit more cash (Going for 370 quid). I am a bit stuck for choice with either a SS or black model, due to a kitchen full of SS and black items.

Smeg dishwashers are not uncommon and are generally regarded as better than Fagor. 😉

SMEG is generally a stylish, quality product. We have had a SMEG dishwasher for many years, with no problems at all. It would be fair to say that if they do go wrong, they can be complex and expensive to fix and the repairer needs to “know” the product to affect a proper repair.

Bit like owning a Ferrari, really.

Liltza – you are obviously in this business with an interest in selling appliances. I suggest that you contact admin@ukwhitegoods.co.uk at your earliest opportunity and ask for Trade access; then introduce yourself properly. We’re a really nice bunch to work with but…….. Fagor? Come on…!
