Guys,
My Smeg DF612SE dishwasher has developed a fault that I’m struggling to diagnose.
The history behind it is that my electrics in my house are a little dodgy, I happened to move a twin and earth cable wired into a junction box in my kitchen which generated a visible spark (coming from the junction box). While this didn’t trip the MCB at the consumer unit it did affect my oven, which must have temporarily lost power as the clock needed resetting.
I noticed that my dishwasher was not working later that day. The machine appears to have completely died on me, no LEDs (including the on/off) light and therefore no fault can be deducted from it.
The on/off switch was on so I am assuming that I have caused some damage somewhere further down the line. I’m thinking that I might have damaged the timer board although there seems to be no noticeable damage to any of the components in the door assembly.
I have checked the power switch and found that it works, a mains voltage is measured coming into the machine and out from the switch.
Would I be right in my assumption in damage being caused to the timer board and if so can anyone recommend a company that repairs these?
Hope the information I give was detailed enough!!! Any advice would be appreciated.
Mark
