    Smeg DF612W freestanding dishwasher. 5100402370. Typ:- 10054.

Fault reported – starts the cycle then after 5 minutes it beeps and aborts the program.
I found the diverter valve was slightly leaking, so I ordered and fitted a new one. Still aborting. 😕
So I ran the test program as stated in the Fault Code Guide. (very difficult to cancel the cycle and change it; because it was set to pre rinse and the test cycle uses the pre rinse button, it’s almost impossible to tell if the machine is running the test program or not) Anyway, eventually got it into test mode. It ran for about 5 minutes and the buzzer sounded and it drained, leaving all the lights on the left of the fascia lit. The fourth light on the right hand side of the fascia was lit as well. According to the book, this indicates a fault with the water diverter valve. Checked and double checked the connections, all OK. Ran the test cycle again and after 5 minutes, the wash pump stopped and the diverter valve could be heard turning on its own. It did this for 5 minutes by which time I was thoroughly pi55ed off with the damn machine that I cancelled the cycle (I think!!) and said I would call back next week. 😈

I changed the diverter valve as it was leaking slightly from the centre spindle and I had seen that fault several times before. All of them were instantly cured after fitting the diverter.

Any ideas on this? Help please!!!!

    Steve.

    Re: Smeg DF612W dishwasher..Grrrr!!

could be the overfill error, the pcb ignores the pressure switch and continues to fill until overfill level is reached, usually around 5 mins into the program given all the flaffing around they do before filling properly. New PCB is the cure I am affraid, but take the rh side off and watch it as it fills, (you cannot hear it filling once the circ pump starts) if it is still filling when it aborts then it is almost certainly the problem.
Only other thing maybe could be a slightly earthed circ pump caused by the leak, just a barely moving megger needle is enough.

Looks like it’s a scrapper then. 🙁 The PCB is very costly!!
    Cheers, Mark.
