I have a 4 year old smeg DI112-9 which has given me no problems, it has now stopped heating the water, still completes the cycle without stopping. No fault codes showing. i have changed the thermistor as advised and have been told that the flow through heater is working (hopefully correct info), anyone got any further info or things i could try before buying a new one.

    TIA

As with all heaters on domestic appliances the power is switched by a relay on the board. Since the relays are a mechanical device its not unusual for them to fail

Thanks Dave, in your opinion would i be as well replacing the machine rather than to keep throwing parts at it?

its up to you in the long term but if it is a relay and you can solder we are only talking about £5

At that price its worth a punt, It may just be a bad solder joint on the relay, get that a lot on early Bosch dishwashers

As a long shot have you checked the wiring. Some dishwashers have a habit of breaking wires at the bottom of the door due to the bending as the door opens and closes

If you have to go to smeg for part then it get expensive
