Apparently just over 12 months old, she had to call a Smeg agent out a few months ago for a similar fault.
At the time he told her that the pans or dishes she had put in where “too heavy”. 😕
She says there are lights flashing ‘aquastop failure’, I suspect a flooded base.
I know the old Smeg used to leak from the small, black rubber O rings on the fill chamber but wouldn’t expect that on a 12 month old machine.
Any help/advice welcome. 🙂

Called this afternoon, as suspected the base had water in it.
Drained it out, removed both side panels and ran the machine for 15 minutes, no sign of a leak from anywhere. 😥
She said it was exactly the same when an engineer called out under warranty 4 or 5 months ago, he said something about “a one off” and also said the large metal roasting tray she had put in was “too heavy”… :con:
That sounds like a bit of bull to me, but I stand to be corrected. 8)
Anyone had any oversoaping issues with this fairly recent model?

bottom spray arm split is the usual culprit. Too heavy is a load of nonsence. Sometimes get circ pumps leaking occasionally, very difficult to trace if so but if I get repeated failures like this and the spray arm has been changed, then I bung a pump in and dont usually hear from it again.

I did wonder about the spray arm, even mentioned it to her as a common fault on Brandt and Indesit dishwashers. The fact that it is only just over 12 months old though led me to discount that. Will just have to monitor the situation for now. 🙂

Thanks Mark, I don’t suppose you have the part number handy by any chance. 😀

I have had one where the rubber connector that connects the pump hose to the pump bulbed and started to leak… not on this model though.
