S/N 41011 0855 0Went out to this on Friday. You can set the program normally as you expect to. When you close the door, the dishwasher repeatedly pulses the drain pump and the water valve solenoid at the same time and doesnt do anything else really.
Customer told me they looked at the LED state and found the fault code – Temperature sensor via the instruction book.I ran an insulation test on the heater element and it was fine. Exposed the soap dispensor solenoid and got a reading through it.
Im guessing at the module which is a different module than the regular Smeg dishwasher. It’s also VERY expencive with a RRP of about £160 and a cost price of £114 + vat from connect and £137 inc vat from Smeg direct. Bit worried about this one. A company that I know have one in stock that was ordered for a job and never used and they have offered me it for £100 inc.
Dont know the way forward with this one. Just hoping someone on here may shed some light on it for me.
Hoping to hear soon.

Hi Dave, Thanks for your advice. I removed the 1.5uf capacitor from the pcb, it’s rated at 275vac and changed it. The old cap that I removed – I charged it with a megger and shorted it. It gave out a pretty decent crack. I wouldnt have wanted it on my fingers put it that way. Would you think this suggests the caps not the problem?
Regards.

change it is the only way
cap is acting like a resistor to feed power to board
as it get older it feeds less to board might only be a 1uF now but would still give a crack on megger

Ok, I have changed it now and the board is ready to go back onto the dishwasher. I will post the outcome of it.
Thanks once again.

Well done Dave!! It worked!! I have one very happy customer who’s got the job done MUCH cheaper (like £150 cheaper) than I told him, and I havn’t had to pay out stupid money to buy a pcb while worrying if it was the real problem!
Im well happy!! Thanks again your a superstar!
