After 75 minutes of a 90 minute cycle, the dishwasher gives a beep similar to that you would get at the end of the full cycle. After a few seconds it gives a double beep, similar to the one that normally signals that an interrupted cycle is resuming. The spray arms start to rotate, stop immediately, and then a single beep again. This continues indefinitely.

    The water inside is hot.
There are no fault codes shown.

On the face of it, the symptoms are similar to http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/forumsphpbb3/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=23483 so I’m thinking I’ll replace the soap dispenser. However, I’m not sure which one to order.

Of these three http://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/advanced_search_result.php?search_in_description=1&keywords=smeg+dispenser&x=0&y=0 the 00054 looks the same (except grey), but of course my exact model number isn’t listed :rolls:

The type number is 12053; Serial Number is 40915|0328|0

I’d be grateful if someone could give me some guidance on which dispenser I need (and if in fact I need one!)

Wanted to post a quick thanks to Penguin45. In the end, having disconnected the solenoid (which made no difference) and bypassed the mains suppressor (which made no difference), I bit the bullet and bought a new PCB.

So far, everything is working as it’s supposed to 🙂

Now that it’s working again, it seems to me that it was failing at the point where rinse aid is released into the cycle. So perhaps either the solenoid is dodgy and will cause the new PCB to fail at some point; or it was simply that an electronic component in the PCB function to control the solenoid had failed.
