SMEG DISHWASHER DETERGENT DOOR NOT OPENING

My SMEG Dishwasher is going through the full cycle and finishing on P0. But the soap try door is not opening during the cycle, so, the dishes are washed only in water.

I checked the door opening catch and this opens the door. the spring mechnanism seems ok also.

Could anyone help with ideas on whats wrong and how to fix it please.

Solenoid failure. New dispenser required. Can’t tell you which one without the model number………..

My SMEG is type 12033 and Model DWI 64.

Is it simply a matter of unscrewing the door back panel and replacing despenser tray complete with solenoid?

Dispenser assembly complete is part number 812890054 – an email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk for prices and ordering.

You are essentially correct as to how it fits; I would add the proviso of powering off first and beware of the stainless steel door edges. You can shave with them.
