    Hi all,

I have a SMEG DWI410. Its not opening the door for the soap. So at the end of the cycle the door is still closed.

About 9 months back the main PCB was replaced. During a wash there was aloud bang. Checking it over I found that the main IC had a hole in it. I replaced the PCB and we thought everything was fine.

It was then we noticed the door not opening. I have checked the dispencer, removed the Solenoid. Checking the body there was a crack in the outer body. It was also dead when checked with a meter.

I have now replaced this part (whole thing). Yet the door is not opeing. The solenoid checks out with a meter. The new dispencer is mechanicaly free and works fine.

A Meter connected (set to AC volts. Peak Hold.) to the back of the Solenoid and the cycle run. The meter never recored more than 1.4v The Solenoid need 230+ to work.

I have checked for continuity between the Solenoid and the PCB. Blue and white wires. They appear fine.

As I look at the main PCB there is a brown wire connected to the top. (eg on the face at 90degrees to the LED’s.) There are also 2 white wires, in one connector, one of which connects to the dispencer door.

Could I have connected this brown and white pair in reverse during the original repair? Would it still have worked perfectly apart form opeing the door these last 9 months?

The brown wire is thick and looks as if it could have power in it… I dont want to just swap the wires and blow something…

    Any help anyone?

    Thanks all 🙂

    Classic…..

Dodgy release solenoid on dispenser will wipe out the PCB. Ultimately, the solenoid fails itself. Your previous repairer should have known about this were he a member of this site.

Ask spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk for part number 812890061.

    Power off, of course.

Re: SMEG DISHWASHER DETERGENT DOOR NOT OPENING

    Hi thanks for the reply…

I swapped the parts on the previous repiar. The PCB was changed so that we could get the washer going.

We have known that the soap dispencer needed to be changed since then.

I have now changed it.. 812890061 is fitted.

Still the door will not open. All the cable are fine but the PCB never sends the signal to open the door..

As in my previous post I now wonder if the brown and white pair could have been reconnected in reverse…

Can the washer have ran for all this time with these been wrong… what do they do…

Which way should they be connected….?

    Again Thnaks for the reply.

    Dave
