hi i have a smeg di 612 c dishwasher that has a problem which has just started first off it started to get a bit noisy then a few days later i stoped near the end of its cycle beeped and then tried to go again and keeped doing this till i opened it to find there was still water inside after reading my manual i found it had error codes so i turned her back on and the eco light was flashing which my manual tells me is E4 water temp monitoring i have read alot of posts on this site ( which is great by the way it helped me fix myAEG cooker last year ) and it sound like the soap door solinoid is causing a lot of problems but any help would be greatly appreciated

I’m afraid your deduction is incorrect. An error code would be displayed by LED 5 showing steady and a combination of LEDs 1, 2 + 3 flashing.

The start/stop/start/stop you are describing sounds like a classic corruption issue which can be caused by the release solenoid on the dispenser or the pcb itself. I’m afraid it’s impossible to be more exact than that.

There is an article worth reading HERE.

    Hi iain71
Did you get to bottom of your problem as i have the same fault ,E4. Penguin45 suggests it might be the sensor, pcb, etc. on my post.
    Cheers Holty
